Her keynote, “Quality Teaching in STEM Education,” will highlight the profound impact of high-quality STEM teaching on student aspirations, learning outcomes, and long-term curiosity, particularly within disadvantaged contexts. Drawing from over a decade of research, Professor Gore will share insights into how nurturing quality education in STEM not only builds essential skills but also inspires a lifelong love of learning.
As the Director of the Teachers and Teaching Research Centre at the University of Newcastle, Professor Gore’s research spans teacher development, pedagogical reform, and the role of quality teaching in advancing equity and student achievement. Her work has garnered international recognition, including a Fellowship with the American Educational Research Association and a Visiting Professorship at the University of Oxford. Her current focus explores the transformative effects of Quality Teaching Rounds on teachers and students, alongside research on forming educational aspirations in school.
